Frequently asked questions

sKids have partnered up with local and national providers to offer additional activities to our Stay and Play after school programmes. These special events run for four – six weeks and are available to existing and new customers. sKids Collab offers opportunities to tamariki to try new activities and experience new skills. Collab includes active sports based sessions like AFL, Archery, Skateboarding, Martial Arts, Cricket and Softball. We are currently working with a broad range of providers to extend to other creative activities like cooking, crafts and STEAM based activities.

If there is something you are interested to see at sKids Collab please let us know!

Alternatively, if you’d like to partner with us to offer tamariki a new sport or experience, please email us at hello@skids.co.nz

Absolutely! sKids Collab is open to all tamariki aged 5-13 years in your school community. You don’t need to be an existing sKids family to book and join these sessions.

Scroll up to our “Make a Booking” section above, select and click a location you want to book for.
sKids Collab bookings must be made for the course of sessions being offered eg four weeks.

Select the session “sKids Collabs x [activity]”.

If you already have a booking for Stay and Play you will need to book your child in the Collab activity on EnrolMy as well. Please email admin@skids.co.nz if you would like your child to attend the Collab event in addition to a Stay and Play booking. Some Collab sessions will incur a small additional fee.

When the bell rings, your tamariki need to make their way to the sKids room. From there they will be signed in, have a nutritious afternoon snack and time to chill out before the sKids Collab activity starts at 3.30pm with the provider.

At 4.30pm when the activity finishes, you will need to collect your child and sign them out of the programme on the sKids tablet. If you are over 15 minutes late to pick up your child, we will book your child in for the full after school session, and charged to your account.

Bookings are also available for families that want to book for the Collab activity only which usually runs from 3.30 – 4.30.  Please check the details available at your local programme.

We will never leave a child alone and unattended. If your child is not picked up within 5 minutes of the programme closing, we will call parents/caregivers and emergency contacts. If we can’t reach any contacts within an hour of the programme closing, the Programme Manager/Franchise Owner will call the police and Oranga Tamariki for advice.

Some activities available through Collab may be limited to a number of children. While we endeavour to have plenty of spaces available sKids and our Collab partners want to make sure the activity provides everyone with the best experience possible. This means some activities will have a maximum number of attendees. We will extend these numbers where possible. To make sure you don’t miss out we recommend booking in early!

For sports Collab sessions, please wear a change of clothes that allows for plenty of movement, bring a drink bottle and hat!

No equipment is needed, our providers will prepare all equipment and provide special gear for every session.

Please refer to our terms and conditions of booking, normal T’s & C’s apply.

Scroll up to our “Make a Booking” section above and check your local sKids programme Collab page for more information on pricing and the activities offered at your school.

Once you make a booking, you will have the option to pay via credit/debit card or pay via bank transfer.
Get up to 10% OFF for upfront payments via credit/debit card. (card processing fees and T’s & C’s apply.)

All tamariki 5 – 13 years old can participate. All experiences and abilities are encouraged to join!

We have at least one sKids staff member onsite at all times who has current first aid training to support sKids Collab sessions alongside the providers at your school. All healthy and safety procedures will be followed as per our term programme policy and procedures.

We are continuously looking for different activities to offer at our sKids schools. Please send an email and tell us more about what is currently offered at your school, what your child and/or community is interested in. We’d love to hear more about what best fits your community.

This will help us to ensure we are able to find just the right activity for your local community.

No, your child(ren) doesn’t have to be enrolled at the school where the Collab event is happening. Children often want to bring a friend along and Collab is a great way for your child(ren) to make new friends, and try out sKids.

Book in for the session that has + Collab. For some schools this will show as a separate booking in addition to the Stay and Play you may have already booked for. Some Collab activities may have an additional fee. Please refer to your schools information on our website.
