Child Safeguarding Policy
As part of Junior Adventures Group (JAG), we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for your children. That’s why we created our Safeguarding Children and Young People policy which ensures all children have the right to be safe and feel safe. Read more about our policy here.
Creating safe environments
We are an organisation staffed with a dedicated group of people, focused on ensuring that children have the opportunity to thrive through our out-of-school-hours care programs. This requires an ongoing commitment and investment in safeguarding children and continually improving our child safety efforts.
Key things that we do to safeguard all children in our care
- Every staff member is required to sign a declaration of Safeguarding Children and Young People and to complete ‘child safe essential’ training before commencing employment.
2. We have Child Safe Champions (which includes our CEO) and a National Safeguarding Lead who supports our leadership team in safeguarding and child protection practices, with an “If you hear something, see something, or feel something – say something” approach.
3. We have service site risk management plans which address any concerns or identified hazards and how we deal with these at every site.
4. We have very robust screening and onboarding processes led by our commitment to safeguarding children and our policies.
5. We have developed the 6 “R”s of disclosure supporting our staff to understand what to do
6. All our centres embrace the regulatory environment and continuously strive to meet and exceed the National Quality Standards. We further invest in a National Quality and Compliance team to enable our team in this area.
7. Safeguarding children and safety is “everyone’s business” at sKids. This is not negotiable. This is supported by our Whistleblower’s commitment also.
8. We want to hear from everyone to ensure children are safe. Therefore, if you have any areas of improvement or concern, please contact us.
