Anthony Kalolo, Programme Assistant
Anthony joined us in late 2014. Having spent two years working with our children, he decided he wanted to be a primary school teacher! Anthony is currently pursuing a teaching degree with University of Auckland. He loves playing basketball. He was selected to play for a club level franchise in Ireland for two months in 2015. Anthony is a welcome addition to the team as the children love challenging him at various ball sports. You will see him at Grey Lynn School sports and athletics events cheering the children on and doing the heavy lifting.
Eleanor Taito, Programme Manager
Eleanor started working at sKids Grey Lynn in February 2012. She is also a Learning Assistant at Grey Lynn School in February 2016. Eleanor has always worked with children as she grew up in a big extended family, is a children’s Sabbath school teacher at her church and worked five years as a Child Care Supervisor at the Ponsonby community centre. Eleanor is a well-regarded leader of the team for her dedication, creativity and passion for children. In return, the children, parents and the Grey Lynn school community adore her too!
Isabella Watson, Programme Assistant
Ella is currently studying medical and health science at Auckland University. She has experience in both her school’s peer tutoring programme and an out of school tutoring programme helping primary school students. Her interests include art and playing sport, especially soccer! She also enjoys dancing, playing the piano and guitar. “I love working with kids and have a great time helping at the after school and holiday programmes. Kelsie is currently away looking after her new born baby Cinnamon.
Letti Taito, Programme Assistant
Letti first started volunteering at afterschool care/holiday programmes while she was still at school and have now worked in this sector for over 10 years. She has also doubled as a youth leader, a children’s teacher at church, a baby-sitter. She’s helped to organize children’s events and birthday parties.
“During that time, I have learned:
Some people work well with kids because they have a gift for it and are talented/skilled at it,
others work well with kids because in reality, they ARE kids. I’m still not sure which category I’m in :)”
Paul Semmons, Programme Assistant
Paul comes from a large tight-knit Cook Islands and Maori sporty family. Therefore he spends a lot of time with his nieces and nephews, and finds that he enjoys looking after them.
This led Paul to work as a programme assistant in early 2015 at sKids Matipo. He realised that he was good at engaging with children and had a positive experience working for sKids. So he reapplied to the neighbouring sKids programmes when he relocated to central Auckland to pursue his computer science degree at AUT University.
Paul now works for JP at sKids Grey Lynn and Devonport.
More significantly, Paul has also decided to continue his study with an education degree!

Tovin is loving Skids and I must say that your team are fantastic with him and with us as well. Nothing is ever an issue and they are so friendly and personable.
Happy holidays to your Skids family and your own.
Awesome holiday programme by the way and great staff. My kids enjoyed the whole two weeks very much.
Leo had a fantastic time! He’ll definitely be back for more and it took some persuading to have him leave the school on Friday afternoon to come home!
It looks like we will need before school skids for this Thursday as well!
Kaia and Nora really enjoyed yesterday morning. Kaia insisted on making scrambled eggs for dinner by herself tonight to demonstrate her new cooking skills.
8 December 2014
My two children (5yr and 6yr) LOVE coming to Skids, they’ve done before school, afterschool and holiday programme at different times and I have no hesitation (or guilt) enrolling them because they enjoy it so much. In fact someone usually cries if I say we aren’t going to SKIDS today! The support staff are very kind and caring and provide a very warm environment for the kids. The programmes are well thought out and JP always takes pride in developing activities the kids will enjoy.
James had such a good time at your holiday programme that he has asked to go next holidays. So I will definitely be more organised next time and book him in. He also asked to stay longer and didn’t want to be picked up. Thanks again.
Amelia and Zoe had a lovely time at the holiday programme, thanks to you and your staff for taking the time to organise so much cool stuff to keep them entertained! Thank you, too, for looking after Zoe’s diabetes so well – I always feel confident that I am leaving her in good hands for the day because I know you’ll follow the program and ring me immediately with any questions or problems that come up. I think you and your team do a terrific job, we will see you in the summer holidays.
Hi JP – just a quick word of thanks and admiration for the stellar work you do with these kids.
Geoff absolutely loves Wednesdays because it means he can come to skids. Please hold a spot for us for Term 2 Wednesday afternoons.
Well done you!
Thanks for looking after our kids so well, the staff are so friendly and engaged and always have the time to tell us how the kids have been that day, and what they have been doing after school. It’s great to know they are in such good and capable hands.
All the best

I was so impressed to witness the kids having afternoon tea after a long hot day on their scooters. The food being served was nutritious and perfect for hungry tummies – fresh fruit (served first!), wholemeal sandwiches and watered down juice (VERY much so – as i had some myself!). Keep up the good food choices!
Catherine Tong (Emily & Charlotte’s Mum)
Merry Xmas to you and the team, thank you so much for being so very awesome. It’s fantastic to know that we have a great place for our girls to go to with people that look after, and have fun with, them when we can’t be with them. Have a lovely, well deserved break and we’ll see you in Jan.
