All our programmes are OSCAR approved by the Ministry of Social Development and thus parents may be able to apply for Work and Income OSCAR subsidies towards the cost of their childcare. Eligible families could pay as little as $2.00 per day.

Welcome to our sKids Centre @ St Mary’s Whanganui, where the safety and care of your child is our number one priority. If you’re looking for a safe, structured and fun environment for your children then you’ve come to the right place.

It’s all about having lots of FUN and your kids will have so much fun at our sKids Centre that they won’t want to leave.

For After School Care at St Mary’s we pick up from Wanganui East School, St Anne’s School and Durie Hill School each afternoon. Before School Care is offered at our sKids Carlton programme, before school drops offs to local schools are available.

sKids St Marys, 30 London Street, Wanganui

A “typical” day or week is as follows:

3.00pm – 3.30pm

Children arrive, put away school bags and spare items of clothing, wash hands and have afternoon tea
3.30pm – 4.00pm

Children begin homework, reading, work sheet or other quiet activity
4.00pm – 4.30pm

Free play time, in playground – weather permitting
4.30pm – 5.00pm

Special Activity time
5.00pm – 5.30pm

Finishing projects and clean-up time
5.30pm – 6.00pm

Small group activity until child picked up by parent/ guardian or other authorised person

If you are running late: please text 021 975 631. We are open until 6.10 pm without additional charge if you are delayed due to circumstances beyond your control.
